Black and Blue Rain

This particular song is about letting go of pain. As always, every song of mine can be seen in many different perspectives. Maybe you'll relate? The Black and Blue Rain hurts so bad that it leaves you numb, doesn't allow pain to exist anymore. Black and blue are also colors of bruises and bruises are signs of being hurt. Take it how you will and interpret it from your own perspective.

She runs out the door
And collapsed to her knees.
Throws her head back
And she raised her hands high.
A shower of teardrops
Escape from the sky
And one by one, she feels every sting.
Soaking up her skin, rollin' off her cheeks.

And she cries to the sky
Wash me clean, let it sting
Leave me numb, Oh please, God's Son
Let me feel the pain, I need Black and Blue Rain.

There will always be scars
That remind her of the past.
Memory isn't etch-a-sketch easy.
Shake and erase doesn't work on pain.
The only cure is Black and Blue Rain.

And she cries to the sky
Wash me clean, let it sting
Leave me numb, Oh please, God's Son
Let me feel the pain, I need Black and Blue Rain

The blackest blue he gave her
Would be the last damn time
Cuz now she's six feet under
Walls of stone, where her broken bones lay alone.
She's the only angel with tears for cryin'
Cuz everyone needs a little Black and Blue Rain

Drench me in Black and Blue Rain
